You’ve found it! The perfect place for your vacation. Mellon Lake is a three mile long lake located on the southern most reach of the Canadian Shield, just 20 miles north of Napanee. With only 15 cottages on the lake, this is a quite retreat, ideal for canoeing, kayaking and fishing or just sitting back and recharging your batteries. The cottage comes with one mile of shoreline to explore. Mellon Lake Conservation Reserve and Sheffield Conservation Area surround the lake providing many miles of scenic hiking. There are more rare species and species at risk here than any other single area in Ontario.
Mellon Lake is 120 feet deep, spring fed and pristine. It is the headwater of the Moira River system.
The three bedroom cottage is comfortable and tastefully decorated. Two of the bedrooms have a double bed each and one bedroom has a single bed. The kitchen is equipped with all the dishes, pots and pans and utensils you will need. Although there is no electricity on the lake, you will be comfortable with the propane fridge, stove and lights. The dining room has a wood burning stove and the living room is furnished with two chesterfields, one opens to a double bed. A four piece bathroom completes the cottage and there is even a backhouse with a great view of the lake for those who want a real wilderness experience.
A large screened room with propane BBQ provides a beautiful space to eat, relax or read.
Through connected creeks, lakes and wetlands, thirty miles of wilderness canoeing starts at the doorstep. Docking space for two boats is available or you can just jump of the end of the dock for a refreshing swim in clean clear water.
